The Ribera of Navarre, watered by the rivers Ebro and Arga, it offers unbeatable conditions to maintain a fresh and luxuriant market garden. Reason why the conserve and agro food industries have a strong presence here.

 

The best known dish of the area is the menestra de verduras. A dish made with fresh asparagus, artichokes, peas and broad beans, basically a dish full of vitamins!

The alubias pochas are also typical of the area. The name comes from the pale colour of the bean. Is a smooth and tender summer dish.

 

 
Always present in restaurants are the cogollos deTudela (lettuce hearts), fresh asparagus and piquillo peppers, typical red peppers of sweet flavour, cultivated in Lodosa.

Re-known wine cellars appear all over the Ribera de Navarre: in Corella, Cintruenigo, Villafranca, San Adrian, Azagra, Caparroso, Murchante or Cascante are some of them. Excellent red, white and rose wines can be tasted anywhere, together with cold meats, stews or a tasty vegetable dishes.
